Historical Walking Tours
The Curator conducts three different group walking tours, as well as walking tours for school visits. They are:
- Local cemetery –Albert Street (Innes Bhuidhe) cemetery is outdoors
- Comparative architecture of the 19th and 20th century is outdoors
- Museum exhibits and local personalities is indoors at the museum
Please wear sturdy walking shoes and dress for the weather. Group tours are subject to Renfrew County Public Health guidance for group activities, so there may be a limit to the number of people we can accommodate. Each tour is $3 per person. For school groups, teachers and chaperones are free. To book a tour, please contact us.
Gift shop
Find one-of-a-kind and unique products as well as local handicrafts in our downtown gift shop. We have items to suit every budget:
- We are the sole purveyor of the Arnprior, ON (Two Rivers) tartan products (bowties and ties, scarves, notepads, fridge magnets, ornaments and more)
- Warm, cozy Kenwood blanket mittens are a favourite! Made by local entrepreneur Lilypad Products, who repurposes Kenwood blankets into unique wearable art. All products are one-of-a-kind due to the availability of textiles.
- Choose from 3 versions of Doors of Arnprior posters and wall art. Find all the doors from the poster in Arnprior!
- Pre-order your Dresses of Arnprior silk scarves. The dresses are part of our special textiles collection at the museum!
- Books, pencils, mugs, wall plaques and so much more!
We accept cash or cheque for all items, and debit on select merchandise. Please ask at time of purchase.
Weddings
The Arnprior and District Museum is an intimate venue for weddings and small group occasions. We are following Renfrew County Public Health guidelines for COVID-19 regarding weddings and indoor gatherings. To be married under our very own Gillies Grove white pine, please call the museum for more information.
Room and venue rentals
Located in walkable downtown Arnprior within sight of shops and restaurants and close to hotels and accommodation, the museum is the perfect place to host your next meeting or event.
We have large main floor rooms with a ground floor meeting room with accessible washroom and ramp entrance, and free parking in our lot. Meeting room and venue rental rates are set each year by Town Council through the User Fees and Charges By-Law.
For 2023, the costs are:
- Reception venue rental - $250.00
- Special event venue rental - $50 per hour
- Setup and teardown - $25 per hour
- Special event damage deposit - $200.00
