Development Charges
The Town of Arnprior collects development charges to help finance the construction of new capital infrastructure. If you're undertaking a planning and development project, you may need to pay development charges. You'll need to pay the appropriate development charges at the time we issue a building permit. The Town of Arnprior development charges are indexed annually on March 13th in accordance with the most recent twelve-month change in the Statistics Canada Non-Residential Price Index.
Timing of Payment of Development Charges
As per the Town of Arnprior's Development Charge By-law section 4.5, development charges are calculated and payable in full on the date the first building permit is issued. Under section 26.1 of the Development Charges Act there are certain types of development that are eligible for Development Charge Annual Installment Payments.
