Paying Property Taxes

Learn how to pay your property taxes in the Town of Arnprior. We offer a variety of different payment options including pre-authorized payments.

Payment Options

Review each payment option and choose the one that is best for you.

Never miss a tax payment by setting up a pre-authorized payment plan. Complete the Pre-Authorized Payment Application or download the application and bring it with a void cheque to Town Hall.

There are two types of Pre-authorized payment plans:

  • Instalment plan (pay 4 instalments throughout the year)
  • Monthly plan (pay 10 instalments on the first day of each month from February to November)

Please indicate which plan you'd like on your application.

You can pay your taxes online through your bank. You will need to:

  • Set the Town of Arnprior taxes as the payee
  • Use your 19 digit (no spaces, dots or hyphens) property tax roll number as your account number

You can pay your property taxes through the mail. Postdated cheques are accepted. Please make the cheque payable to the Town of Arnprior and send it to:

You can pay your property taxes in person by cash, cheque or debit or in the secure drop box at Town Hall.

Change or Cancel your Pre-authorized Payment Plan

If you need to change the account your payments are being withdrawn from please submit a Change Request. If you need to cancel your Pre-authorized Payment Plan please submit a Cancellation Request at least 14 days prior to your next withdrawal date.

Late Payments

The Town of Arnprior must receive all property tax payments by the instalment due date on your tax bill. If you miss an instalment date, you will be charged a penalty of 1.25% per month. The penalties will be applied the first of every month until paid.

Tax Sale

If your property taxes fall into two years' arrears, a Tax Arrears Certificate can be registered against your property. Contact us for more information.

Tax Relief Program

The Town of Arnprior, in collaboration with the County of Renfrew offers tax rebates for property taxes. Learn more about our rebates and see if your property qualifies.

If your charitable organization owns or occupies property, in the industrial or commercial tax class, you may be eligible for the charitable organization rebate. Learn more about the eligibility and apply today.

If you are 65 years of age or older, own property in the Town of Arnprior which is your principal residence, and qualify for the Guaranteed Income Supplement, you may be eligible for the low income senior's tax rebate program. Learn how to apply and see if you are eligible.
