Official Plan
The Town of Arnprior Official Plan guides growth and development across the Town.
Official plan policies address the:
- Location of new housing, stores, schools, hospitals, offices, and other land uses;
- Need for services such as sewers, water, roads, and schools; and
- Community's vision for growth.
The County of Renfrew approves amendments to the Town Official Plan.
Land use designations
All lands in the Town are designated in the Official Plan. Designations determine the specific policies that apply to properties. Example designations include: Downtown Area, Environmental Protection Area, and Established Residential Area.

Amending the Official Plan
If your development plans conflict with the Official Plan, you will need to apply for an amendment. Learn how to apply for an official plan amendment.
Official Plan Amendments
The following amendments have been approved to the Official Plan:
- OPA 1 – 124 Fourth Avenue – Re-designation from Employment Area to Low/Medium Density Residential
- OPA 2 – Baskin Drive Subdivision – To permit townhouse dwellings to back onto single-detached dwellings
County of Renfrew Official Plan
The Town of Arnprior Official Plan conforms to the County of Renfrew Official Plan. The County Official Plan sets out the vision for growth and resources across the County.
